International Buyers Guide

Frequently Asked
Questions

Everything international churches and religious sculpture buyers need to know about materials, pricing, shipping, customization, and working with Trevi Art Sculpture.

Section 01

Material & Quality

Is your marble genuinely natural stone? I'm concerned about purchasing resin or artificial stone sold as real marble.

This is one of the most common concerns we hear. All Trevi religious sculptures crafted in marble use genuine natural stone sourced from certified quarries -- including Han White Marble and Italian Carrara White -- with each batch accompanied by a provenance certificate.

We can provide samples free of charge for independent third-party testing. Here's how to identify authentic natural marble:

  • Organic, non-repeating veining patterns unique to each piece
  • Slow water absorption rate when tested with a few drops
  • A clear, resonant tone when lightly tapped -- not a dull thud

How is the bronze content and craftsmanship guaranteed? Will the sculptures rust or fade over time?

Trevi bronze sculptures are cast using Silicon Bronze or Tin Bronze with β‰₯85% copper content, fabricated through the traditional Lost-Wax Casting (Cire Perdue) method -- ensuring every detail is faithfully reproduced.

Outdoor Protection

All outdoor bronze sculptures receive an anti-corrosion protective coating, plus professional patina or polishing treatment.

Lifespan

Properly maintained outdoor bronze sculptures have a service life exceeding 50 years under normal conditions.

How can I verify craftsmanship quality if I cannot see the sculpture in person?

We provide a comprehensive remote verification package for every order:

Multi-angle HD Photography

Detailed close-ups of facial features, hands, drapery folds, and surface finish

Production Process Video

Full documentation from raw stone to finished sculpture

3D Modeling Preview

For custom orders -- digital renders delivered within 48 hours

Pre-Shipment Inspection Video

Final quality confirmation before crating -- packing only commences after your approval

Section 02

Pricing & Costs

Will there be hidden fees added after the initial quote?

Absolutely not. Trevi provides fully transparent itemized quotations. Every quote clearly breaks down:

~60%
Materials
~30%
Labor & Carving
~10%
Packaging & Freight

We support FOB / CIF / DDP trade terms. All duties, packaging, and insurance are explicitly stated in the contract. There are no post-completion surcharges -- ever.

Chinese sculptures seem very affordable -- does lower pricing indicate inferior quality?

Competitive pricing reflects China's mature stone industry supply chain and abundant master craftsmen -- not corner-cutting. Quyang County, our home base, is recognized as China's "Sculpture Capital," with generations of dedicated artisans.

"Trevi has dedicated over 40 years exclusively to church religious sculptures, led by master carvers with decades of specialized experience. We encourage buyers to compare quotes for equivalent dimensions, materials, and craftsmanship -- not simply the lowest price. A masterfully crafted sculpture can be passed down through generations; its value far exceeds the initial investment."

Section 03

Shipping & Logistics

Marble and bronze sculptures are extremely heavy -- will they be damaged during international shipping?

Transit damage is the top concern for international buyers -- which is why we've developed a three-layer professional packaging system:

Full EPE pearl cotton wrap -- complete surface cushioning
Custom-dimensioned wooden crate -- built to the sculpture's exact measurements
Waterproof film sealed outer layer -- full moisture protection

Complex forms (e.g., angels with outstretched wings) are shipped in modular sections with detailed assembly instructions. Our transit damage rate is below 0.3%. We partner with DHL, FedEx, and major sea freight carriers, and every shipment is fully insured.

How long does shipping take? What are the timelines for Australia, Europe, and Southeast Asia?

Standard production lead time is 30-90 days depending on size and complexity. Sea freight transit times are as follows:

Destination Sea Freight Transit
πŸ‡¦πŸ‡Ί Australia Approx. 18-25 days
πŸ‡©πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡«πŸ‡·πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ Europe Approx. 25-35 days
πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦ North America Approx. 20-30 days
πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬πŸ‡΅πŸ‡πŸ‡ΉπŸ‡ Southeast Asia Approx. 7-15 days

Full shipment tracking is provided throughout transit. We can also assist with destination customs clearance documentation.

What customs documents are required to import religious sculptures? Could shipments be held at customs?

Trevi has extensive international export experience. We provide a complete export documentation package with every shipment:

Commercial Invoice
Packing List
Certificate of Origin
Material Declaration
Religious / Non-commercial Use Declaration (available on request for parishes)

We are familiar with import regulations in the EU, USA, Australia, and Southeast Asian countries, and can proactively assess applicable duty rates to prevent clearance delays.

Section 04

Do your sculptors understand Catholic, Christian, and Orthodox iconography standards?

Yes. Trevi's design team has conducted in-depth study of Western religious iconography traditions, and is well-versed in the theological and visual requirements of multiple denominations:

Roman Catholic

Liturgical vestment colors, symbolic attributes, and devotional postures for each saint

Eastern Orthodox

Byzantine-style proportions, gold leaf application, and traditional icon composition

Protestant Christian

Simplified, non-ornate sculptural style aligned with Reformed aesthetic sensibilities

All theological and aesthetic details are confirmed with the client before production begins, ensuring the finished work honors your congregation's tradition.

Section 06

Cultural & Religious Sensitivity

Are there cultural or religious concerns about purchasing Christian sculptures from China?

This is a profound question that many European and North American church clients raise. Trevi's position is clear:

"Craftsmanship knows no borders. Faith deserves dignity."

Our sculptors approach every religious commission with the reverence of a sacred trust, not as ordinary commercial production. Each piece is treated as a work of devotion -- because that is precisely what it is.

It is worth noting that the Vatican and many of the world's most respected churches have long commissioned and acquired high-quality religious artworks manufactured in China. The origin of a sculpture does not diminish its sacred purpose -- the artistry, reverence, and intention behind it do.

Trevi deeply respects every client's faith tradition. We take the time to understand your congregation's theological heritage, and we embed that understanding into every chisel stroke and casting.
